Ordered this book with Amazon ... had a question about the pricing of my order and received an "oversea" customer service department. The call quality was horrible. the individual did not overlly understand my issue and kept calling Ma'am when I am a male. Corrected him and he apologized by saying "Sorry Ma'am". Very disappointed in Amazon's customer service department ! ! ! Would seriously consider using another ordering website when ordering items now and during the holidays. Asked the gentleman if there was someone in the States who could assist me and he said no "It was all overseas" ....

Don't ever give this cookbook to a bride unless you want her to cook better than you! Just joking...seriously I've become convinced that there's only two cookbooks any starter kitchen needs, this one and the Cook's Country cookbook (same cooking team). I love this book.

A number of the negative reviews fault this book for not including every single recipe from 10 years of shows. I think that instead, one should look at the high quality of what IS included, which are superb recipes for just about every kind of food you would want to cook. The organization is logical, in categories (e.g., chicken dishes, breads, etc.) rather than divided by season.

In my opinion, these cookbook writers do what few others do - they tell you the very best ways to prepare dishes and give clear, detailed explanations of why they do things the way they do. They are also specific in recommendations about products, and there are many tips of things not to do or buy that are just money-wasting.

I think that perhaps the authors would have been better off not emphasizing the TV show in the title but just call this the America's Test Kitchen Cookbook, which is really what it is. My copy is already well-used and I have purchased several copies for friends.

A tip: much cheaper to get it on Amazon than directly from Cooks Illustrated (of course!).

I have a pretty small house and yard. I use this for cleaning off my car, washing my bike and various other things and filling up things with water.. typical hose uses. I don't garden. 50' is good for me as I can reach anywhere in my yard with it.

It does not kink. The attachment to the faucet is very easy to use, big and turns quite nicely. My only complaint is that it is plastic.. it feels sturdy, but I'd guess if anything ever dies on it, this part will be the first.

I've used lots of other hoses before and this is by far my favorite one.

I've bought a lot of hoses, and usually try to get the ones that are at or near the top of the line at the stores. I've never been very happy with any, and some made me curse the manufacturer and all his family.

I like using a hose reel. Most hoses are OK if you pull them straight off the reel, and do not try to go very far. They usually keep their shape and if you don't baby them, they will kink continuously. Then, you have to baby them when you reel them back in, making sure they aren't in the least bit twisted. The trouble with most hoses is that once they get enough of a kink, they never recover.

This hose is orders of magnitude better. It doesn't hold the coiled shape of the reel, it's pretty rubbery, light, and easy to use. Of course, I've learned pretty well how to prevent hoses from kinking, but most of my other ones would still drive me crazy. This one is so much better, I want to kiss it. I'd guess it might kink if you don't pay attention, but anyone who complains about that has never used a different hose. Perhaps the very heavy-duty rubber hoses are better, but they are expensive and heavy.

The only problem is that the faucet end is big. It's very nice, but on my hose reel, the connection is in a place where it was too tight to fit, so I had to use a small extension to connect it to. But it's sure easy to tighten.

Doesn't tangle. Made my wife much more happy with our back yard.

This thick, heavy hose won't kink and tangle on you. Silver/grey color might not fit all tastes but if you want a hose that doesn't kink every time you move it this is the one!
